Introduction
The GSM/3G and ISDN are two omnipresent networks. GSM has emerged as a popular communication technology due to its widespread coverage. While majority of the organizations have an existing investment made in their ISDN infrastructure. It is necessary for the businesses using ISDN PBXs to provide GSM connectivity to their users. This allows them to dynamically select one of the networks on per-call basis for obvious benefits of cost and quality of service (QoS). Also, reaching a network transparently helps eliminating the huge interconnection charges and thereby saves significantly on call costs.
The GSM-T1/E1/PRI gateways offer integrated interfaces for GSM/3G and T1/E1/PRI. Flexibility and scalability are the key strengths of these gateways. Its open architecture with universal slots allows inserting any interface card in any of the slots available. With Matrix ETERNITY one can scale up to as many as 8 T1/E1/PRI ports and a Channel Bank of up to 32 GSM ports. The gateway works as an adjunct to the existing infrastructure. There is no need to replace any equipment like PBX, Operator Consoles, Key Phones, Standard Phones, Power Supply and Wiring. This not only saves lot of equipment cost, but also saves time and efforts required for re-training. These modular gateways come in varied configurations, with built-in support for multi-port Auto Attendant, in-depth Call Records, DDI and advanced Least Cost Routing.
Matrix ETERNITY is a family of GSM-T1/E1/PRI gateways, encompassing varied port configurations to match the uneven and changing requirements. Networking of ETERNITY and an existing PBX is possible over T1/E1 links. QSIG facilitates value added features like Call Transfer, Call Forward, Do Not Disturb with Override, Call Offer, Call Intrusion, Auto Call back (No Reply and Busy) Message Wait, CLIP, COLP, CLIR, COLR, CNIP, CONP, etc. In addition, ETERNITY can also be used in stand-alone mode by connecting T1/E1/PRI ports directly with the ISDN network or T1/E1 network.
Matrix ETERNITY supports mobile connectivity through an optional GSM card and each card offers 2/4/8 channels (ports) with dedicated SIM on each port. The GSM card supports all four GSM bands, and the band is software selectable. The default band is 900+1800 MHz. Important features like Automatic Number Translation, Network Selection and Multi-Stage Dialing are built-in the system. ETERNITY allows users to connect ISDN PRI (23B+D or 30B+D) lines to the system using optional cards. The ISDN PRI lines can be configured as NT or TE as per application requirement.
Calls can be seamlessly routed between GSM and ISDN networks. Fixed or Least Cost Routing can be selected to decide route for an outgoing call. Fixed or Least Cost Routing can be selected to decide route for an outgoing call. It can handle calls on all the ports simultaneously allowing full traffic on all the ports. The elaborate routing algorithm encompasses different attributes like Port, Calling Number, Called Number and Time. It selects the most cost-effective route for a given number at specified time. In addition, it allows the flexibility of reserving ports for important users.
Further, Video Conferencing and Data Connectivity is offered by Matrix ETERNITY with ISDN PRI card that supports video conferencing solutions (H.320) through the PRI NT port on the respective cards. Any standard video conference unit or video phone with suitable ISDN interface can be conveniently integrated with ETERNITY ISDN card. Data connectivity can also be extended to other locations by connecting a suitable router and Ethernet Switch to this ISDN PRI or BRI NT Port.
Matrix ETERNITY is very easy to install and operate. Built-in web-server allows the system engineer to configure various parameters locally or remotely using any Internet browser. Antenna mixer (4 to 1) is built-in each GSM/3G Card and hence only one or two antenna are required per card.
